These seals were modeled after medieval and renaissance era chessman style seals. The original was hand carved from wax by hand using medieval techniques. The wax blank was molded, and each seal is gravity cast in lead free pewter from handmade molds. Each seal is slightly unique and hand finished. This is wax modeled after extant seals that contain a squirrel and the phrase, “I Crake Notis”, or “I Crack Nuts”.
You can choose from either an aged copper patina or no patina. The copper patina is intentionally inconsistent and has variations, just like you would find on old bronze seals.
