The Design and Process
“Well I’m back” is the last line spoken by Sam Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings. This piece used a Carolingian style hand and art style with slight adaptation to include Tolkien’s diacritical marks in the Elvish language. The designs are each drawn, inked with handmade iron gall ink and painted with egg tempera paint that is handmade with historic pigments all on goatskin parchment.
The Prints
Each print is 5x7 inches and is matted to fit in an 8x10 inch frame. Our prints are produced using Epson Claria inks.
