The Design and Process
The passage from Midsummer Nights Dream was rendered with a whimsical French illumination style that uses only three pigments. The designs are each drawn, inked with handmade iron gall ink then painted with egg tempera paint that is handmade with historic pigments, including vermillion, white lead, and lapis/ultramarine of this on calfskin parchment.
The Prints
Each print is 8x10 inches and is matted to fit in an 11x14 inch frame. Our prints are produced using Epson Claria inks.
