The Design and Process
Each of these letters was hand drawn and painted using medieval pigments and handmade paint. The designs were inspired by designs in the gospel books of Kells, Durrow, and Lindisfarne. The pigments used to produce the originals are orpiment, azurite, woad, verdigris, minium, and brazilin lake. The letters incorporate knotwork, zoomorphic animals and spirals in their designs.
The Prints
Each print is 5x7 in and is matted to fit in an 8x10 inch frame. Our prints are produced using Epson Claria inks.
